About

White Owl Wellness Business History

In 2004 White Owl Wellness concept emerged from a vision Sharron Simmie had 10 years ago. This vision was about providing services from natural therapies by nurses and products developed to support wellness and empower the client for their own health.

White Owl Wellness Reasons to have our products

The White Owl Wellness range came as a gift from our Herbalist and Naturopath Tracey Brown. This unique range of herbal blends has been designed to promote health and provide assistance with common ailments. The concept has been designed by Sharron Simmie from observations as a nurse.

Natural Botanicals
Environmentally Sustainable

We are members of Green Fleet Australia - take a look at their website and join this great initiative.

This initiative off sets carbon emissions from production of growing herbs and other various ingredients to transporting goods to stores using postal and /or courier services. Currently our usage from 2006 equalled 30 native trees being planted and this year we have increased this due to overseas travel.

Packaging is recyclable right down to the cellophane used to package herbs and our eco silk shopping bags are made of parachute silk which after 5 years of use is biodegradable. All excess cardboard and business waste is recycled where possible to help sustain Australia's fragile eco system.

Qualified practitioners and experts in their own field make all products to the highest commercial standards.

White Owl Wellness Story

About Sharron Simmie, founder of White Owl Wellness

Sharron Simmie is a Registered Nurse Division 1 with a wide range of experience in Medical, Surgical, Orthopaedic General and Orthopaedic Spinal nursing areas. This experience expands 17 years of practice within the acute nursing profession working in several major hospitals in Australia and New Zealand.

As a passionate nurse this has given Sharron many unique experiences observing operations on patients such as Spinal and Liver surgery, attending wound and pain management seminars and other courses to keep abreast of the changing pace of medicine.

Combining her skill from natural therapies whilst nursing patients, Sharron observed people’s desire to have tools to reach wellness through being self-empowered when unwell in hospital and to regain health in the community.

During this time Sharron also committed studies towards business studies - Cert IV Small Business Management and degree level subjects toward Bachelor of Business. \

In 1994 Sharron completed a Certificate of Natural Therapies specialising in massage, sports, remedial, relaxation and pregnancy. Sharron continues to develop her knowledge for nursing, natural therapies and personal development.

Sharron gained experience in 1994 in New Zealand working as an independent practitioner for natural therapies in its pioneering stage focussing on massage in an independent private nursing practice. This opportunity to work alongside visionary nurses who practiced a range of unique modalities as individual businesses became the guiding light to the development of White Owl Wellness in 2004

White Owl and its meaning

Owl: symbol of Magic, Wisdom

The Owl was associated with the Greek goddess Pallas Athena. Soldiers have held the Owl as a special bird because it stays awake at night, which is the hardest time for soldiers to stay awake. Some Native Americans see the Owl as the symbol of the soul.

The owl has exceptional vision and sense of hearing. It symbolizes wisdom and ability to see and hear clearly despite the darkness. To bring out your hidden qualities keep an owl in your home. The owl is the symbol of magic. Powerful magic, good omens, prophecy, astral travel, power to see the un-seen, all seeing knowledge, great wisdom, good luck, power of the moon and night, insight, giving and receiving messages, clairvoyance, religious beliefs, communication with the sprit world, and insight into others true motives.
